Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Classical Dance Teacher to join our CBSE school in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The ideal candidate will have a degree in any discipline along with significant training and performance experience in classical dance forms. With a minimum of 3 years of teaching or professional dancing experience, the successful candidate will be committed to fostering a love for classical dance among students and nurturing their talent in a creative, disciplined environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct classical dance lessons and workshops for students across various grade levels, in alignment with school programs.
• Teach classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, or other traditional styles.
• Choreograph performances for school events, competitions, and annual functions.
• Inspire and mentor students to develop their skills, passion, and appreciation for classical dance.
• Evaluate students’ progress through assessments, performances, and regular feedback.
• Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of students during dance practice.
• Collaborate with school staff to integrate cultural and artistic programs into the curriculum.
• Promote an understanding of cultural heritage through dance.
• Maintain a structured and disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning and artistic expression.
• Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher interactions, and school cultural activities.

Requirements:

• Any bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Classical Dancer and/or Dance Teacher.
• Expertise in one or more classical dance forms (Bharatanatyam, Kathak, etc.).
• Ability to teach dance to students at different skill levels, from beginners to advanced learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Passionate about teaching and inspiring students to appreciate classical dance.
• Ability to choreograph performances and prepare students for stage shows and competitions.
• Knowledge of the CBSE curriculum and extracurricular planning is a plus.
