Job Description:

We are seeking an organized and experienced School Librarian to join our CBSE school in JP Nagar 8th Phase, Bangalore. The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Library Science (M.Lib.Sc) with at least 3 years of experience working as a librarian in a school setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the school library, promoting a love of reading, and supporting the academic and personal growth of students through access to a wide range of resources.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including cataloging, organizing, and maintaining library resources.
Assist students and staff in locating and utilizing books, reference materials, and digital resources.
Develop and implement library programs that encourage reading and support the school’s curriculum.
Promote literacy and foster a love for reading among students through events such as book fairs, reading challenges, and author visits.
Ensure the library environment is welcoming, organized, and conducive to study and research.
Maintain accurate records of library resources, including borrowing and returns.
Stay updated with the latest trends in library science and integrate modern technology into library services.
Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction and provide resources that enhance student learning.
Conduct library orientations and instructional sessions on information literacy for students and staff.
Manage the library budget, ensuring that resources are purchased and maintained within the allocated funds.
Participate in school meetings, professional development opportunities, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance library services.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Library Science (M.Lib.Sc).
Minimum 3+ years of experience as a School Librarian.
Strong knowledge of library management systems and educational resources.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to foster a positive and engaging library environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
