Job Description:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced School Librarian to join our CBSE School in Banashankari, Bengaluru. The ideal candidate should be passionate about reading, research, and information management, and be capable of supporting students and teachers in achieving academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the school library in accordance with CBSE norms.
- Organize, classify, and catalogue library resources (books, journals, digital resources).
- Assist students and staff in locating and using library materials effectively.
- Promote reading habits and library usage among students.
- Plan and conduct library periods, reading programs, and literary activities.
- Maintain records of library inventory, issue/return, and stock verification.
- Coordinate with teachers to support curriculum-related library resources.
- Ensure a quiet, safe, and student-friendly library environment.
- Stay updated with new publications, digital tools, and library management systems.
Eligibility / Requirements:
- MLIBSc (Master of Library & Information Science) – Mandatory.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience as a School Librarian, preferably in a CBSE school.
- Good knowledge of CBSE library guidelines and procedures.
- Familiarity with library automation software and digital resources.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
